Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actor best known for playing House in the Fox Medical drama House. Born in Wayne in conservative Jewish tradition, she moved into New York City at the age of 18 and began studying theater at Tisch School of the Arts. She was soon involved with club culture and caused enough fuss to draw the attention of the media. Then she used her experience as well her fame to write and compose an original musical entitled Positive Me as well as to appear in the show. In the following year, she was hired by MTV to be the host of Awake on the Wild Side. Her first appearances in TV and film productions after the series ended. Initially, she was she appeared in small roles.
